Roundup of latest Premier League action which featured a managerial sacking as the top flight returned from October’s international break. 

Leandro Trossard’s 58th-minute close-range winner from Gabriel’s flick-on of Bukayo Saka’s corner proved enough for leaders, Arsenal to snatch victory at London rivals, Fulham.

Erling Haaland’s second-half brace saw Manchester City climb to second with a 2-0 win at home to Everton.

Bournemouth climbed to third with a dramatic 3-3 draw away at Crystal Palace in which Eli Kroupi’s first-half brace put them in control before Ryan Christie restored their lead in the 89th minute, although Jean-Philippe Mateta’s 97th-minute penalty sealed his hat-trick and a point for the Eagles.

Liverpool dropped to fourth as they suffered a fourth consecutive defeat in all competitions with a 2-1 home defeat to Manchester United, in which Harry Maguire headed in Utd’s 84th-minute winner after Bryan Mbeumo’s opener was cancelled out by Cody Gakpo.

Down in the relegation zone, Wolves remained rock bottom following a 2-0 defeat away at Sunderland through Nordi Mukiele’s 16th-minute finish and Ladislav Krejci’s 92nd-minute own-goal.

West Ham remain second bottom following a 2-0 home defeat to Brentford as Igor Thiago and Mathias Jensen fired Keith Andrews’ Brentford to a first away league win of this season.

Lesley Ugochukwu and Loum Tchaouna found the net as Burnley climbed out of the bottom three with a 2-0 victory at home to fellow promoted rivals, Leeds.

Nottingham Forest consequently slipped into the bottom three after a 3-0 loss at home to ten-men Chelsea as Joshua Acheampong, Pedro Neto and Reece James netted before Malo Gusto saw red, although Forest’s manager – Ange Postecoglou was sacked moments after the final whistle.

Elsewhere, Emiliano Buendia netted a second-half winner as Aston Villa claimed a fifth straight win in all competitions with a comeback victory at Tottenham, in which Rodrigo Bentancur fired the North-London hosts ahead before Morgan Rogers restored parity.

Danny Welbeck’s brace ensured that Brighton remained unbeaten at home against Newcastle in the Premier League with a 2-1 win, despite Nick Woltemade having flicked in a 74th-minute equaliser for the Magpies.
