Bromley’s new defensive signing, Richard Taylor has warned that he is a “dominant” player following his loan switch from Bolton.
Bromley have signed the 25-year-old defender who can plays as a centre-back or left-back on a season-long loan from Bolton, after he managed just 14 appearances for the Trotters last season.
Taylor though has warned fans in his first interview as a Bromley player that he is a player who likes to dominate in defence with his energy and power, whilst bringing versatility in tactical options for Head Coach, Andy Woodman
“I’m a dominant player. Energetic, powerful, um, brave as well. So I feel like I lead out from the back and I just have a lot to offer on and off the ball.
“Yeah, going forward. It’s easy for me at left back because of my pace and power and whatnot, not to beat myself up, but um being solid at the back as well is also something I’m really strong at.”
Taylor, who was born in Hackney, London, added that he was excited to make the loan move as he praised Bromley’s spirit and energy, following discussions with the Ravens’ Head of Recruitment – Luke Clark, as he acknowledged their 21-match unbeaten run last season.
“Pleasant to be here man. Just really excited and can’t wait to get going. Yeah, I mean, we’re pushing to get it done as soon as possible. So happy that it’s done.”
“Everyone’s upbeat, man. I love it. Uh, spirit is good. Energy is high. So, we’re expecting good things man.”
“Bolton had a meeting with Luke it was. And he kind of really just sold it to me. Uh the project of the club, how the club’s trying to be, where the goal is, where we’re trying to get to, and obviously I think it’s 18 games unbeaten. Who can say no to that?”
The move also reunited Taylor with forward, Victor Adeboyejo who he knew from their short time together at Bolton before Adeboyejo left in January, with the latter having too joined the Ravens this summer, whilst he also knows goalkeeper, Dillon Addai.
“Yeah, Vic. Quite close with Vic. So, yeah, I know Vic. I know Dillon as well, Dillon Addai, so I think they’ll help me get settled.”
The move also sees Taylor moving back to his home city after a four-and-a-half year absence since January 2022, in which he played for Waterford, St Mirren and Bolton within that period, and is now excited to have family attending matches on a regular basis.
“Yeah, man. It’s a different it’s a different feeling and it being home and I haven’t really had a lot of family be able to come down to the games and whatnot. So now it’s practically on my doorstep. So delighted.
“Every game. Every game.”
