Victor Adeboyejo produced a brace as Bromley stunned Crystal Palace 3-0 in a pre-season friendly at the CopperJax Stadium.
Adeboyejo broke the deadlock with a 62nd-minute lobbed finish from Shamal George’s long ball.
The 28-year-old then completed his brace 12 minutes later from the penalty spot after substitute, Ethon Archer had been fouled by Cheick Doucoure.
Nicke Kabamba eventually wrapped up a clinical second-half display for Bromley with a close-range 83rd-minute finish.
Amidst several changes from the team which lost 4-1 to West Bromwich Albion in Portugal, Shamal George quickly came to Bromley’s rescue as he tipped Rio Cardines shot behind the bar in the third minute, before he denied Matheus Franca and Romain Esse.
Palace continued to press on the front foot but lacked much end product throughout the first half before manager, Pierre Sage substituted his whole starting 11 at half time, whilst Bromley’s Andy Woodman substituted Jacob Mendy and Michael Cheek for Freddie Cowin and Adeboyejo respectively.
Woodman’s double substitution paid off in the 62nd minute as Adeboyejo got through on goal from George’s long ball and lobbed a shot over Joe Whitworth to break the deadlock.
Adeboyejo completed his brace with a 74th-minute finish from the penalty spot for his third goal in pre-season, just a minute after substitute, Ethon Archer had been fouled by Cheick Doucoure.
Palace’s disastrous second-half display grew worse in the 83rd minute as Kabamba finished a shot from close range to wrap up Bromley’s victory.
Bromley also were assured of a clean sheet as Dillon Addai denied Brennan Johnson a chance to salvage a consolatory goal for Palace in injury time.
What’s Next?
Bromley continue their pre-season preparations with a home match against Millwall on Tuesday 28 July at 7:45pm BST, which is followed by another home game on Friday 31 July at 7:30pm against QPR.
Palace meanwhile head off to Como, Italy for the Como Cup where they meet Lens then Famalicao in a pair of 45-minute matches at 7pm CEST and 8:30pm CEST kick-offs on 28 July at Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia.
