Everton host Premier League title-chasing Tottenham Hotspur at Hill Dickinson Stadium.
Victory could lift Everton up to ninth if Aston Villa and Crystal Palace both lose elsewhere, whilst Tottenham can go as high as second depending on results elsewhere earlier in the day.
Team News
Jack Grealish will return for Everton after he missed their 2-0 defeat at his parent club – Manchester City last weekend.
Nathan Patterson (foot) and Jarrad Branthwaite (hamstring) remain ruled out.
Tottenham have no fresh injury concerns to report following their goalless draw at Monaco in the Champions League.
Ben Davies (muscle), Yves Bissouma, Dominic Solanke (both ankle), Radu Dragusin, James Maddison (both ACL), Dejan Kulusevski, Destiny Udogie (both knee), Cristian Romero (adductor) and Kota Taki (foot) are still ruled out.
When is Kick-Off?
Everton host Tottenham at Hill Dickinson Stadium on Sunday 26 October at 4:30pm GMT, live on Sky Sports in the UK.
Stat Attack
- Everton have won just one of their last nine league meetings against Tottenham (W1, D4, L4).
- Tottenham are winless in their last six league visits to Everton (D5, L1), although this is their first trip to Hill Dickinson Stadium.
- Richarlison has scored three goals in Tottenham’s last two visits to Everton (D1, L1).
- Everton are yet to suffer defeat at home this season in all competitions (W3, D2).
- Tottenham are yet to lose away in the league this season (W3, D1).
Prediction
Knowing that they were never likely to get anything at Man City, Everton delivered a resilient defensive display to minimise their defeat to just two goals so I do expect them to return to their attacking style here as this is winnable given their home form against Spurs.
Tottenham meanwhile will be relieved to had kept a clean sheet at Monaco after their defensive sloppiness against Aston Villa, especially given that Monaco outplayed them and some firm defending and saves saw them avoid defeat but I expect them to rebound here if can be more consistent in attack.
Either way, I expect both teams to bring their best attacking game and given their respective home/away form, I fancy this to be a close battle with a point apiece as it is hard to call a winner.
Prediction: Everton 1-1 Tottenham
Result: Everton 0-3 Tottenham
