Nottingham Forest have sacked Ange Postecoglou as manager after one month in charge.
Postecoglou took charge at the City Ground in September during the first international break of the season, but failed to win any of his eight matches in charge across all competitions in which Forest drew twice and lost six matches.
Today’s (18 October) 3-0 home loss to Chelsea proved to be the final straw and 19 minutes after the full-time whistle, Forest released a statement confirming that Postecoglou had been sacked with immediate effect.
“Nottingham Forest Football Club can confirm that after a series of disappointing results and performances, Ange Postecoglou has been relieved of his duties as head coach with immediate effect.
“The Club will make no further comment at this time.”
Postecoglou’s exit meant that he is the shortest serving permanent manager in Premier League history at 39 days, with Sam Allardyce having been interim manager when he took charge of Leeds for their last four games of 2022-23 season.
