Roundup of the latest action on the Premier League’s return from October’s international break.

Curtis Jones’ 51st minute winner saw Liverpool stay top with a 2-1 home win over Chelsea, after Mohamed Salah’s penalty was cancelled out by Nicolas Jackson.

Second-placed Manchester City came from behind to win 2-1 at rock-bottom Wolves through John Stones’ controversial late header, having initially trailed to Jorgen Strand Larsen’s effort until Josko Gvardiol equalised with a curled strike.

Ten-men Arsenal remain third after their unbeaten start came to a shock end in a 2-0 loss at Bournemouth, as Ryan Christie and Justin Kluivert netted for the Cherries following William Saliba’s red card.

Goals from Morgan Rogers and Ollie Watkins plus Issa Diop’s own-goal saw Aston Villa go fourth with a 3-1 win at Fulham, as both teams finished a man down after red cards for Jaden Philogene-Bidace and Joachim Andersen respectively.

Down in the relegation zone, first-half goals from Cameron Archer and Joe Aribo couldn’t prevent second-bottom Southampton losing 3-2 to Leicester, amidst Ryan Fraser’s red card whilst Jordan Ayew completed the Foxes’ comeback.

Crystal Palace remained third-bottom following a 1-0 loss at Nottingham Forest, in which Chris Wood netted a 65th minute winner.

Ipswich remained above the bottom three after first-half goals from Iliman Ndiaye and Michael Keane condemned them to a 2-0 loss at home to Everton, albeit after a 15-minute delay due to turnstile issues.

Elsewhere, goals from Dejan Kulusevski, Yves Bissouma and Son Heung-min plus Alphonse Areola’s own-goal saw Tottenham beat West Ham 4-1 after Mohammed Kudus put the Hammers ahead but he was then sent off late on.

Second-half goals from Alejandro Garnacho and Rasmus Højlund fired under-pressure Manchester United to a 2-1 comeback over Brentford, having initially fallen behind to Ethan Pinnock’s header in first-half injury-time.

Danny Welbeck netted a 35th minute winner as Brighton won 1-0 away at Newcastle, which left manager – Fabian Hürzeler happy at how his Seagulls “suffered” as a team to get the victory.
