Brentford host struggling Ipswich at Gtech Community Stadium.
Victory will lift Brentford up to ninth if Bournemouth lose at Aston Villa, whilst Ipswich will stay 17th and out of the relegation zone with a win.
Team News
Mathias Jensen could return for Brentford following his recovery from a calf injury.
Rico Henry, Josh Dasilva, Igor Thiago (all knee), Gustavo Nunes (back) and Aaron Hickey (hamstring) remain sidelined.
Ipswich will again be without Ben Johnson after he missed their loss to Everton with a thigh injury.
Jacob Greaves (hamstring) and Massimo Luongo (ankle) were also absent and will too miss the trip to West London.
Ali Al Hamadi (knock) and Jens Cajuste (knee) could return but Axel Tuanzebe (hand) remains sidelined.
When is Kick-Off?
Brentford host Ipswich at Gtech Community Stadium on Saturday 26 October at 3pm BST, untelevised live in the UK.
Stat Attack
- This is Brentford’s first Premier League meeting against Ipswich.
- Ipswich are visiting Brentford’s Gtech Community Stadium for the very first time, but were winless in last three visits to the Bees albeit at Griffin Park (D1, L3).
- Brentford kept clean sheets in each of their last three home games against Ipswich (W3), during which they scored five goals.
- Five of Bryan Mbeumo’s six league goals for Brentford this season were scored in the Bees’ four home games.
- Six of Ipswich’s nine conceded league goals this season came in the first half.
Prediction
Although anything other than defeat at Manchester United was a tricky ask, Brentford can be pleased at how they went toe-to-toe only for two defensive errors to cost them a point at least but this is the ideal rebound game.
Ipswich looked toothless in their end product against Everton who were simply more clinical, but they need to be sharper in their decision making on the attack otherwise this could be another difficult afternoon.
This fixture though is the type of game which Kieran McKenna’s Tractor Boys should look to get something from, yet I just can’t see Brentford losing this given their attacking form.
Prediction: Brentford 2-0 Ipswich
Result: Brentford 4-3 Ipswich
