Brentford have signed Ben Krauhaus from Bromley but the forward will return to the National League team on loan until the end of 2023-24 season.

Krauhaus graduated through Bromley’s youth academy and has scored five goals in 28 appearances for the South-London club this season, which saw them rise to second in the National League.

The 19 year-old consequently has become Bromley’s club-record transfer sale for an undisclosed fee – rumoured to be £200k, and the club released the following statement on his move and subsequent loan back for the remainder of this season.

“We congratulate Ben for securing a move to Brentford and look forward to seeing his developments continue for the remainder of the season as a Bromley player.”

Krauhaus also is the first Bromley player to be sold to a Premier League club and the youngster is “absolutely buzzing” to have signed for the Bees, as he posted on X.

Upon returning to Brentford, Krauhaus will link up with their B team and play under Head Coach, Neil MacFarlane.

Addressing Krauhaus’s move to the Bees, MacFarlane commented: “I am absolutely delighted with his signing. Ben is someone who has performed so well for Bromley so far and we cannot wait for him to join us in the summer.

“Ben really suits our style of play; he is really aggressive in his pressing while also being a player who can create and score goals.

“We want to continue that development process for him and I am sure he will fit perfectly into the group.”

During his time at Bromley, Krauhaus has spent time on loan at Walton & Hersham where he helped them claim promotion from Counties League Premier Division South, before he joined Cray Wanderers only to impress enough to earn a recall and promotion to Bromley’s first team.
