Hat-tricks from Phil Foden and Erling Haaland fired second-placed Manchester City to a 6-3 home win over local rivals, Manchester United despite Anthony Martial’s late brace for the Red Devils.
Having scored twice to initially put fourth-placed Brighton 2-0 up in their first match under Roberto De Zerbi, Leandro Trossard completed a late hat-trick to rescue a 3-3 draw at Liverpool who had fought back to lead.

Leeds clung on for a scrappy goalless draw at home to Aston Villa despite being reduced to ten men, following Luis Sinisterra’s red card due to a double yellow-card booking for two separate fouls.
Finally, Bournemouth saw various penalty appeals dismissed in a competitive goalless draw at home to Brentford.
