2026 FIFA World Cup: Round of 32 – Colombia vs Ghana

Colombia face Ghana in the concluding Round of 32 tie at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Colombia secured their spot in this tie by topping Group K, whilst Ghana progressed as the third-best third-placed team after they finished third in Group L.

Team News

Colombia have no fresh injury or suspension concerns to report following their 0-0 draw against Portugal in their final Group K match.

Ghana could be without forward, Antoine Semenyo after he suffered a minor ankle injury in their 2-1 loss to Croatia.

Goalkeeper, Lawrence Ati-Zigi is a minor doubt due to a fitness issue.

When is Kick-Off?

Colombia meet Ghana at Arrowhead Stadium, Kanas, USA, on Friday 3 July at 8:30pm CDT (2:30am BST, Saturday 4 July), live on ITV1 and ITVX in the UK.

Stat Attack

  • This is Colombia’s first World Cup meeting against Ghana.
  • Ghana have never met Colombia before in any competition.
  • Out of all the Group Stage winners at this edition of the World Cup, no team scored fewer goals than Colombia (4).
  • Both of Ghana’s two goals in the Group Stage were scored in the second half.

Prediction

Having slightly surprisingly topped Group K ahead of Portugal with two clinical displays and a gutsy draw, Colombia have to feel that this is theirs to lose if they continue to play as solidly as they’ve done.

Ghana’s low-block defence meanwhile got narrowly outclassed by a clinically dominant Croatia but they just need to reset now, as there is no reason that they can’t win this if can be more clinical up front when on top and tighter at the back.

My instinct is that this will be a closely-fought cagey battle but Colombia just feel like they have that extra quality to scrape through.

Prediction: Colombia 1-0 Ghana
