Fulham welcome Tottenham Hotspur to Craven Cottage in Monday Night Football.
Victory would see Fulham leapfrog Tottenham into fifth place in the table, whilst Spurs can pull a five-point gap to the Cottagers with a win and move to within three points of the top-four.
Team News
Antonee Robinson is available for Fulham after he missed their defeat at Newcastle due to suspension.
Shane Duffy (virus) is also set to be in contention but Neeskens Kebano (Achilles) remains absent.
Tottenham have no fresh injury concerns after their defeat at Manchester City in midweek as Lucas Moura (tendon) remains absent.
Stat Attack
- Fulham have claimed just one point from their last seven league meetings against Tottenham (D1, L6).
- Tottenham have avoided defeat in their last seven league visits to Fulham (W6, D1).
- Each of the last two meetings between Fulham and Spurs at Craven Cottage have seen both teams score an own goal in the opening 19 minutes.
- Each of Fulham’s last three home matches have been settled by 2-1 result, with the Cottagers winning twice (W2, L1).
- Spurs have lost just one of five away visits to a fellow London-based club this season (W1, D3, L1), which came at Arsenal in October.
Prediction
Despite playing twice last weekend, Fulham certainly will be happy with their performances because to beat Chelsea then frustrate Newcastle is no easy feat, yet they were unlucky to score on Tyneside after some excellent defending whilst their own mistake proved costly.
Marco Silva’s Cottagers therefore now need to reset because they now have a huge opportunity to go fifth and put the top-four within their sights, but they will need to be at their best and punish any slow start from Tottenham.
Spurs though do have work to do because they really took the fight to Man City in the first half and earned a deserved two-goal lead, yet managed to defensively implode in the second half to concede four goals so improvement is a must if they want to give themselves a chance at the top four.
Craven Cottage therefore feels like the ideal away trip for Spurs given their record here but this Fulham team are much better than in recent seasons, so I don’t see this game proving easy and a surprise draw might be on the cards if the visitors convert to their sluggish first half performances.
Prediction: Fulham 1-1 Tottenham
Result: Fulham 0-1 Tottenham
