Bournemouth host Brentford at Vitality Stadium in a mid-table Premier League encounter.
Victory or a draw could see Bournemouth move up to ninth if West Ham lose elsewhere, whilst Brentford can go 15th if Everton fail to beat Sheffield United.
Team News
Lloyd Kelly could return for Bournemouth after he missed their defeat at Arsenal due to illness.
Tyler Adams (back) could return but Milos Kerkez (suspension), Chris Mepham (illness), Ryan Fredericks (calf), Luis Sinisterra and Marcus Tavernier (both hamstring) remain absent.
Brentford could have defender, Kristoffer Ajer available despite having suffered a broken nose in a goalless draw against Fulham last weekend.
Mathias Jensen (knock) is a doubt but Aaron Hickey (hamstring), Josh Dasilva, Rico Henry (both knee) and Ben Mee (ankle) remain absent.
When is Kick-Off?
Bournemouth host Brentford at Vitality Stadium on Saturday 11 May at 3pm, untelevised live in the UK.
Stat Attack
- Bournemouth are winless in three previous Premier League meetings against Brentford (D2, L1).
- Brentford drew 0-0 in their only previous Premier League visit to Bournemouth in October 2022.
- Bournemouth are unbeaten in two previous home games against Brentford played in May. (W1, D1).
- Bournemouth are unbeaten in four of six home matches against London-based teams this season (W2, D2, L2).
- Thomas Frank’s Bees are looking to avoid suffering three consecutive Premier League games without a goal for the first time since they were promoted in Summer 2021.
Prediction
Getting any sort of result at Arsenal was going to be a huge ask but Bournemouth should be proud of their defensive effort in frustrating the Gunners to three moments of clinical magic, although they could of been more clinical themselves once found their attacking groove.
Brentford meanwhile suffered their own frustrations in a goalless draw against Fulham with their end product once again going against them on pure luck, so they will surely view this as a chance to find a win ahead of their tricky final-day match at home to Newcastle.
My instinct though is that this could well be a close game and a draw might well be the fair result given the defensive vulnerability within both teams.
Prediction: Bournemouth 1-1 Brentford
Result: Bournemouth 1-2 Brentford
