Bromley’s unbeaten 27 league-match run at home was ended in a 5-0 loss to Leyton Orient at the CopperJax Community Stadium.
Jaze Kabia nodded Orient into a 36th-minute lead from Yusuf Akhamrich’s cross, before the latter scored twice in the space of six second-half minutes prior to Kabia’s second header in the 66th minute.
Armando Dobra netted a 91st-minute goal which condemned Bromley to their first league loss at home since a 3-2 defeat to Salford in March 2025.
Bromley consequently slipped down to 18th position in the table, whilst Orient climbed to sixth.
Having suffered tough defeats against Sheffield Wednesday and Barnsley at the weekend, it wasn’t surprising that Bromley and Orient initially cancelled each other out in the opening minutes until Orient’s Isaac Hayden flicked a half-volley over the bar in the 14th minute.
Orient subsequently took control as Yusuf Akhamrich saw two shots blocked by Shamal George, before Kabia volleyed a 33rd-minute cross from Fin Stevens over the bar.
Bromley’s resistance eventually broke from a corner three minutes later as George blocked Stevens’ header but the ball was recycled to the edge of the box by Akhamrich, and the winger’s cross was nodded into the far-top left corner by Kabia to put the visitors in front.
Andy Woodman’s Ravens soon began to fight back but Orient held onto half time as Omar Sowunmi’s header was saved by Noah Phillips, before Richard Taylor fired just wide of the left corner moments later.
Any hope that Bromley held of extending their unbeaten home form was snuffed out just 42 seconds into the second half as Mitchell swung in a low cross, which Akhamrich swept into the far-bottom right corner unmarked to put Orient in firm control.
The 20-year-old Tottenham loanee further consolidated Orient’s lead just five minutes later as he played an one-two with Mitchell as he cut in from the right flank, before he curled into the far-bottom left corner to effectively seal Orient’s victory.
Bromley almost pulled a goal back in the 56th minute after the ball fell to the feet of debutant, George Saville but Phillips was alert to save his shot.
Kabia completed his brace with a 66th-minute header from Will Forrester’s corner-kick, after George punched his initial shot behind a minute earlier.
Bromley ultimately failed to offer any hope of a miraculous comeback as Orient calmly saw out their win with a 91st-minute finish into the far-bottom right corner by Dobra after he met Springett’s pass just moments after the pair came onto the pitch.
Orient’s win meant that they had won their first two away games in a league campaign for the first time since the 2015-16 season.
Woodman’s Ravens meanwhile are now ruing consecutive league defeats for the first time since March 2025, when they lost away to Carlisle United then at home to Salford.

Bromley will again be at home as they face AFC Wimbledon on Monday 7 September at 8pm BST.
Leyton Orient face another tricky test as they visit Luton at Kenilworth Road on Saturday 5 September at 3pm.
