Cardiff City have signed attacking midfielder, Jack Moylan from Lincoln City for an undisclosed transfer fee.

Moylan’s surprise move to the Bluebirds comes just over a week before the new Championship season starts, having produced 12 goals and seven assists as he helped Lincoln City gain promotion as League One champions ahead of fellow promoted Cardiff last season.

The 24-year-old attacking midfielder has signed a four-year contract until June 2030 for an undisclosed fee, and told Cardiff City TV that he is pleased to make the move as he praised manager – Brian Barry-Murphy for his reputation.

“I’m absolutely delighted to be here. It’s such a massive football club – in Ireland growing up, you watch Cardiff City as a Premier League club, so I’m absolutely over the moon to be here.

“There were a lot of factors. It’s such a big Club, such a nice city, and Brian has such a good reputation. The way he plays football, I think I’ll really enjoy it. I’ve watched the team a lot over the last year, and watched last weekend against Roma, and the football speaks for itself.”

Moylan added that he believes that Cardiff’s playing style will fit him as he continued: “Last year I played a lot in the ten and off the left for Lincoln – I naturally drift to that side. I think the shape here will really suit me, because it’s a footballing team who like to be versatile.

“When you’re playing with such a good team, surrounded by players who are on the same wavelength as you, it’s going to be really enjoyable.”

Moylan began his career with Malahide United and Bohemians at youth level before he graduated into the latter’s first team with eight appearances before he spent 2021 on loan at Wexford with eight goals in 17 appearances.

He then spent 2022 & 23 seasons at Shelbourne where he produced 26 goals in 70 appearances before he moved to Lincoln City in January 2024, and managed to deliver 21 goals in 87 appearances across his two-and-a-half years with the Imps.

Moylan represents Republic of Ireland at international level and scored a second-half hat-trick on debut in a 5-0 friendly win over Grenada in May 2026, in the first of two appearances as he then featured in a 1-0 victory over Qatar but was red carded for a high-stud challenge.
