Roundup of social media reaction to Andy Woodman’s shock departure from Bromley.
Woodman’s contract was “mutually terminated” this morning after an incredible five-and-a-half years in charge at the CopperJax Community Stadium, during which he led them to the 2022 FA Trophy, promotions from National League to League Two then League One.
He also oversaw their best-ever FA Cup run to the third round in the 2024-25 season, which came to an end at Newcastle United where he had previously been a coach under Alan Pardew.
His departure however has left many Bromley fans in a state of shock and disbelief after a difficult start to their maiden season as a League One club, which has left them sat 23rd after ten matches with two games in hand and his final match in charge was a 4-0 home loss to Leicester.
There was also admiration and respect for Woodman’s success as they took social media to share their reactions.
Gutted,
Thank you for the last 5 years Andy, what a journey it has been, fa trophy, national league promotion and league 2 champions, fa cup 3rd round, it’s been a special journey for this incredible club with you.
Thank you super Andy Woodman, Bromley legend @AndyWoodman4 https://t.co/gUKuuvt3Nj

Bromley FC have just lost the greatest manager we have ever had.
1 FA trophy 🏆
Promotion to the EFL for the first time 🏆
League 2 Winners 🏆The man who took us out of Non-League and into the EFL. Gave me some of the greatest days of my life
Thank You @AndyWoodman4

Don’t get the decision to sack woodman at all. The most successful manager in our history and we’ve had two promotions in 3 years. Did the owners really think we’d be anything other than in and around the relegation zone.

An absolute disgrace. We wouldn’t even be in the football league if it wasn’t for Andy Woodman. I can’t believe we’ve done this. Bonkers

So shocked to see this despite our form. I guess it’s nice that the board are ambitious but this is cut-throat.
Woodman has won me over so well since he came in, and has managed us through my favourite memories as a football fan.
All the best Woody 🤍🖤

Gets you promoted to l2 then l1, gives you the most successful time in your history, he has to compete in l1 with easily the worst squad in the division and then you sack him? Surely there was no expectation of survival with that squad and he deserves better after 5 years?

Words can’t express how hurt and shocked I am. I would’ve rather gone back down to the national league with him than stay up and lose him. Whoever’s decision this is, I hope you also walk. Andy, thank you for every memory, you made my life infinitely better. @AndyWoodman4

Our timing is impeccable here – 3 games coming up against teams around us, and you sack him after losing to Leicester?! Not surprised that every other club thinks we’ve lost our minds
— Georgie (@georgieweaver96) October 22, 2026
Ludicrous decision

@bromleyfc @MashStPaddy I can’t believe @bromleyfc have done this, shocking decision. After everything Andy Woodman has done for this club he deserves to be treated better than this, and given more time to sort things out. @AndyWoodman4 Thank You for all that you’ve done for this club 🏆🏆⚪️⚫️⚽️🥲

Two trips to Wembley, Newcastle away in the FA Cup are memories I never thought I would experience with little old Bromley.
But Andy Woodman made that possible. Bromley are League Two champions do you know how mad that is.
@AndyWoodman4, thank you.

@AndyWoodman4 Gutted, thanks for the success. I hope you get lots more success in the future. Good luck https://t.co/MaPdnrMg5n

X user, @PhotoSmd has called for Bromley to reward Woodman’s effort with a statue after the success that the 55-year-old has delivered for Bromley.
@AndyWoodman4 deserves this at least @bromleyfc https://t.co/62Y5xHqpWO

Woodman’s exit has even caught supporters of other clubs by surprise such was the timing and circumstances of the decision to part company.
Gotta be one of the craziest sackings I’ve seen in years.
He’s taken Bromley to places beyond their wildest dreams. And because of a few poor results they’ve pulled the trigger.
One point off safety with 36 games to go. Board have absolutely shat themselves into this decision

@bromleyfc @davidselfridge1 Not a huge fan of Woodman or his style but this is mental!! He’s taken Bromley, got them punching well above their weight and now he’s been shown the door!! Absolutely mental!

@bromleyfc Andy Woodman has done a great job and unbelievable where Bromley are now.
It will be great loss but know Chair will do right thing so good luck to all in the future all can be proud. 👍— Alan Smith (@AG_Smithy) October 22, 2026
@bromleyfc @trevk37 Travesty!
He has done a phenomenal job over many years and delivered. Just WRONG.— Adopted Magpie93⚽️ (@achandler2409) October 22, 2026
@bromleyfc @Gibbboooo_ As a Chesterfield fan we have had some right rumbles over the years with Bromley and let’s say we don’t have a soft spot for you !!!
But if that’s based on recent results it’s madness absolutely insanity. he has taken you from a brutal National league to League one
A joke 💙
— SpireiteTC💙💙 (@JohnCon2424) October 22, 2026
@bromleyfc Feel for Andy, I’m a Leicester fan but follow non league, Andy’s a victim of his own success getting the club from the National League to League 1. When you see the size of some of the clubs in League 1 surely there was an expectation of being back in League 2 next season?
— Dan Disarra (@daniel_disarra) October 22, 2026
@bromleyfc If Bromley think they have a better chance of success without Woodman, think again. You will have to spend big to overhaul the entire Woodman’s squad. If you wanted to keep your identity, you should have kept the guy who built it, and succeeded with it.
— Peter Haigh (@PeterHaigh4) October 22, 2026
@bromleyfc What a bad decision, you were expected to get relegated last season. But you never read the script. He has been an absolute miracle worker for your club, over achieving doesn’t even come close to describing it. Someone is about to pick up one hell of a manager
— Dean Harvey (@gillsdeano) October 22, 2026
@bromleyfc Shocking decision. im very sure some league 1 teams will be in for him no doubt. I always liked how he set his Bromley teams up, a good manager in my opinion.
