Hull City entertain Brentford in a tasty Premier League encounter in the race for European qualification.
Victory would see Hull leapfrog Brentford and potentially move into the top five, whilst Brentford likewise can go into the top five with a win if Liverpool slip up at home to Brighton.
Team News
Hull will have Robinio Vaz available after the forward recovered from a late tackle on his Achilles at the end of their 1-0 loss at Fulham last weekend.
Mohamed-Ali Cho (leg) and Lucas Gourna-Douath (calf) missed that match but are back in contention.
Jack Butland (arm), Nobel Mendy (groin), Eliot Matzo (ACL), Matt Targett (ankle), Darko Gyabi (adductor), Ilyas Ansah (back) and Charlie Hughes (hernia) are still ruled out.
Brentford will be without Yehor Yarmoliuk and Vitaly Janelt after the pair were red carded during their 2-1 loss at home to Liverpool.
Jannik Schuster (ankle/illness) and Antoni Milambo (knock) are available for selection, but Josh Dasilva (hamstring) and Kaye Furo (metatarsal) remain absent.
When is Kick-Off?
Hull host Brentford at MKM Stadium on Sunday 25 October at 2pm BST, live on Sky Sports Golf in the UK.
Stat Attack
- This is Hull’s first Premier League meeting against Brentford.
- Brentford are making their first Premier League trip to Hull, but are winless in four of their last five visits (W1, L4).
- Mohamed Ali-Cho has produced the highest shot on target conversion percentage than any other Hull player this season (75%), having put three of his four shots onto target in four appearances.
- No Brentford player has committed more top-flight fouls than Igor Thiago (13).
Prediction
Without a win in their last six matches in all competitions, Hull seem to have plateaued amidst a heavy injury crisis and were totally outplayed at Fulham with no shots on target, so an immediate response is required if they’re to get right back into the top-ten mix.
Brentford Head Coach, Keith Andrews meanwhile has a midfield headache with Yarmoliuk and Janelt suspended so I expect Mathias Jensen and Mamadou Sangare to drop into central midfield with Damsgaard stepping into the central attacking midfield position again.
The Bees however did have chances to claw a draw from their home game against Liverpool but this is a chance to reset because they’ve got the depth and quality to get a result here, as long as they stay focused and adapt quickly without Yarmoliuk and Janelt’s presences.
I however do think that Hull will produce a serious response on their own turf but Brentford should be good for a draw.
Prediction: Hull 1-1 Brentford
