Rotherham have signed forward, Paul Mullin on a free transfer.
Mullin’s arrival at The Millers come just under a month after he was released by Wrexham upon expiry of his contract after having scored 110 goals in 172 appearances across a five-year spell.
The 31-year-old forward however failed to make a single appearance for Wrexham last season in the Championship, having instead spent the first half of that campaign at Wigan where he netted five goals in 26 appearances before he joined Bradford City but failed to net in nine appearances for the Bantams.
He has signed a two-year contract with Rotherham until June 2028 as The Millers look to mount a promotion challenge in League Two, as they seek an instant return back to League One following their relegation at the end of last season.
Mullin began his career in the youth setups at Everton then Liverpool before he joined Huddersfield but failed to make a single first-team appearance.
His senior professional debut eventually came at Morecambe in a League Cup first-round loss against Bradford as a substitute, before he went on to score 28 goals in 140 appearances across three seasons.
Summer 2017 saw Mullin join Swindon where he managed 10 goals in 47 appearances before he then delivered 12 goals in 56 appearances in a two-year spell at Tranmere between 2018-20, which included promotion from League Two to League One via the 2019 League Two Play-Off Final.
Mullin however spent the latter half of his second season at Tranmere away on loan at Cambridge United, where he scored twice in six appearances.
Mullin subsequently joined the Us permanently in summer 2020 and scored 34 goals in 50 appearances to secure promotion to League One, although he subsequently rejected a new contract offer and left to join Wrexham.
His move to Wrexham proved successful after falling short in the National League Play-Off Final in his first season at the club, as they went on to claim promotion back into the EFL as champions at the end of 2022-23 season which marked the first of three consecutive promotion-winning seasons.
