Manchester City will begin their title defence against Birmingham City as the 2026-27 Women’s Super League fixtures are revealed.
Reigning champions, Man City will start their title defence at home against last season’s WSL2 champions, Birmingham City, who they coincidentally beat in the Quarter-Finals en-route to the Women’s FA Cup title last campaign albeit away on that occasion.
Last season’s runner-up, Arsenal coincidentally are facing a team that they met in the Quarter-Finals of that competition, albeit away at Brighton – with the Seagulls having won that cup tie at Arsenal on Easter Sunday – with Sky Sports showing live coverage at 12pm on Sunday 6 September.
In a third coincidence of two of last season’s Women’s FA Cup Quarter-Finalists being drawn together on the opening weekend of the new WSL season, Charlton will host Liverpool at The Valley – having suffered an extra-time defeat in the cup tie.
Elsewhere, London City Lionesses face an early test of their extensive transfer investment this summer as they host Manchester United at the CopperJax Stadium in the season-opener on Friday 4 September at 7pm BST, live on Sky Sports in the UK.
BBC’s first live match of the season will see Chelsea play host to Aston Villa live on BBC One on Saturday 5 September at 12:30pm.
Last season’s WSL2 runner-up, Crystal Palace will host Everton, whilst Tottenham meet West Ham in the first London derby of the season with both matches scheduled for Sky Sports+ on Sunday 6 September alongside the Man City and Charlton matches.

The WSL will take their traditional Christmas break after the 13th round of the season on the weekend of 19-20 December, with Charlton’s clash against London rivals – Arsenal considered the headline tie whilst Man Utd face Tottenham in a ‘big six’ showdown.
