Wrexham have signed defender, Joe Worral from Burnley for £2m.
Worrall’s move to Wrexham has ended a two-year stint at Turf Moor where he made 27 appearances and helped Burnley claim promotion at the end of the 2024-25 season into the Premier League, only for the Clarets to be immediately relegated back to the Championship at the end of last season.
Burnley accepted a £2m offer from Wrexham for Worrall who has signed a two-year contract until June 2028 with option for a further year.
The 29-year-old also previously won promotion to the Premier League with Forest via the 2021-22 Championship Play-Offs, during his 13-year association with the Tricky Trees in which he scored five goals in 226 appearances.
On his move to Wrexham, Worrall spoke of his excitement at aiming for a third promotion to England’s top flight.
“I’m really pleased to be here. I’m super excited to get my teeth into working with good players, the manager and the ownership.
“I’m here to win football matches and achieve something special.
“Everything that Wrexham’s about, I’m going to throw myself into it head-first and give my all for this badge.”
Manager, Phil Parkinson added: “We’re delighted to welcome Joe to the Club.
“He’s an experienced centre half, with good leadership qualities, who’s been part of promotions out of this division.
“We look forward to welcoming him into the squad.”
During his time at Forest, Worrall enjoyed loan spells at Dagenham & Redbridge, Rangers and Besiktas.
