Tottenham Hotspur have signed left-back, Andrew Robertson on a free transfer from Liverpool.

Robertson has left Liverpool after a nine-year spell at Anfield in which he helped them claim nine trophies and contributed 14 goals plus 69 assists in all competitions.

The 32-year-old left-back nearly left the Reds for Tottenham in January but after consideration, he chose to see out his contract and has now opted to make the move on an initial two-year contract until June 2028 with option to extend for a further year until 2029.

Tottenham will officially complete the transfer on 1 July once Robertson’s contract at Liverpool expires on 30 June.

Spurs’ Head Coach, Roberto De Zerbi is pleased to secure Robertson who he believes will add experience and quality to the defence, following the team’s flirtation with relegation this season.

“Andy is someone I’ve admired for a number of years and he will bring outstanding technical qualities, experience, leadership and mentality to our team.

“He is a proven winner at the highest level over a long period and is someone who can be a big player for us, both on and off the pitch.

“I can’t wait to start working with him and seeing the positive impact he will have on everyone around him.”

Robertson began his senior career at Scotland’s Queen Park where he scored twice in 43 appearances in 2012-13 season, which earned him a move to Dundee United where he delivered five goals in 44 appearances.

His performances saw him join Hull in summer 2014 in a three-year stint which saw him twice suffer relegation from the Premier League with the Tigers, either side of an instant promotion back to the top-flight via 2016 Championship Play-Offs before he moved to Liverpool in 2017.

Robertson represents Scotland at international level and has scored four goals in 92 appearances since his debut in 2014.
