Ferrari dominated Friday Practice for the 2026 Monaco Grand Prix with a pair of one-two finishes.
Charles Leclerc topped FP1 from Lewis Hamilton at his home event but the pair swapped around in FP2 as Hamilton emerged quickest, with the Scuderia having been expected to dominate on a track which suits the characteristics of their car and isn’t power sensitive.
FP1
Cadillac’s Sergio Perez was first on track and initially set 1m 23.003 as the first unrepresentative lap time, which was quickly usurped as Max Verstappen and Leclerc soon exchanged fastest lap times, until Hamilton set 1m 15.892 in the seventh minute.
Hamilton soon lowered his benchmark time to 1m 15.617 three minutes later before Leclerc posted 1m 15.060 in the 15th minute, which he subsequently lowered to 1m 14.928 a further five minutes later to head the order at the halfway mark of the session as many ran the hard tyre in the opening stints.
Antonelli however displaced the Monegasque in the 33rd minute with 1m 14.537 on the medium tyres, but the session was red flagged three minutes later after Isack Hadjar suffered a sudden slide out of the Swimming Pool chicane and hit the barriers heavily.
The session resumed with 16 minutes left on the clock and Hamilton proceeded to lower the benchmark time to 1m 14.204 with eight minutes left, but Leclerc barely a minute later clinched the fastest overall time with 1m 13.978 ahead of the Brit.
Everyone set their fastest laps on the medium tyres except for Cadillac’s Perez and Valtteri Bottas whose fastest laps were done on the soft tyre, whilst Hadjar’s quickest effort came on the hard tyre before his session was prematurely ended.
Red flags however were back out with three minutes left after Aston Martin’s Fernando Alonso hit the wall on the run to Nouvelle Chicane, but the session resumed with a minute left so drivers could file out to take the checkered flag for a practice start on the grid.

FP2
Russell was first out on track and set 1m 22.176 as the initial unrepresentative benchmark time whilst Verstappen quickly opted for an early flier on the medium tyre, which saw the four-time champion lay 1m 15.933 as the initial representative benchmark time.
Hamilton then Leclerc proceeded to lower the benchmark time to 1m 14.175, before Verstappen responded with 1m 14.008.
Hamilton however replied by going 0.279s quicker with 1m 13.729 in the 12th minute, whilst Norris stopped at the Nouvelle Chicane due to an electrical failure, which curtailed his session and brought out the virtual safety car.
Once the session went green flag again, Leclerc set 1m 23.613 to finish the opening stint fastest as everyone ran the medium tyre bar Alonso and Stroll who opted for the soft tyres.
Verstappen was the first lead driver to switch to the soft tyres and set 1m 13.467 in the 28th minute, which he soon lowered to 1m 13.194 only for Leclerc to find 0.057s to go fastest with 1m 13.137 with 25 minutes left in the session.
Hamilton however emerged fastest overall with 1m 13.026 set with 23 minutes left in the session to complete another Ferrari one-two across both sessions.
Red flags were however out with three minutes left to end the session early after Perez suffered a brake failure which caused him to stop at Turn 4.
