Sean Dyche has become the third manager to be sacked at Nottingham Forest this season, having only been in charge for four months.
Dyche replaced Ange Postecoglou in October 2025 after the Greek-Australian suffered a disastrous month in charge, having initially replaced Nuno Espirito Santo a month earlier in September 2025.
During his time in charge, Dyche led Forest to 22 of their 27 points so far in the Premier League this season and lifted them out of the relegation zone into 17th position at time of departure, albeit just three points above West Ham who occupied the last relegation spot.
He also oversaw Forest’s qualification for the UEFA Europa League Knockout Play-Offs, where they will face Fenerbahce on 19 and 26 February.
Forest owner, Evangelos Marinakis however decided to sack Dyche just hours after the Tricky Trees were held to a goalless draw at home by rock-bottom Wolves yesterday evening (11 February), despite being unbeaten in five of their last six matches.
In a club statement, Marinakis confirmed that Dyche had “been relieved of his duties” with immediate effect.
“Nottingham Forest Football Club can confirm that Sean Dyche has been relieved of his duties as head coach.
“We would like to thank Sean and his staff for their efforts during their time at the Club and we wish them the best of luck for the future. We will be making no further comment at this time.”
Dyche has left Forest with a 40% win rate from just 25 matches, in which the Tricky Trees claimed 10 wins, six draws and nine defeats.
