Top-six-chasing Brentford host Premier League leaders, Arsenal in a massive London derby.
Victory by two goals or more would lift Brentford up to sixth, whilst Arsenal can extend their title lead back to six points with a win.
Team News
Reiss Nelson is ineligible to feature for Brentford due to this clash being against his parent club, Arsenal.
Kevin Schade (suspension), Fabio Carvalho, Josh Dasilva and Antoni Milambo (all ACL) remain sidelined.
Arsenal could be without forward, Leandro Trossard after he suffered a muscle injury in their 3-0 victory at home to Sunderland.
Martin Odegaard (knock) faces a late fitness check but Mikel Merino (foot), Max Dowman (ankle) and Bukayo Saka (hip) remain absent.
When is Kick-Off?
Brentford host Arsenal at the Gtech Community Stadium on Thursday 12 February at 8pm GMT, live on TNT Sports 1 in the UK.
Stat Attack
- Brentford are winless in their last eight Premier League meetings against Arsenal (D2, L6).
- Arsenal have won three of their four previous Premier League trips to Brentford (W3, L1).
- Brentford have conceded three goals in two of their last three league matches at home to Arsenal (L3), as they lost 3-0 in September 2022 then 3-1 on New Year’s Day 2025.
- Vitaly Janelt has been booked in three of Brentford’s last four matches.
- Arsenal have claimed four points from two away London derbies in the league so far this season (W1, D1), during which they scored twice – albeit after half time – and conceded one goal.
Prediction
Having rediscovered their spark after a mid-January blip and came from behind to beat Newcastle in a cracker last weekend with excellent attacking play, Brentford now need to again be clinical but tighter defensively after they rode their luck at times which Arsenal will punish harder if not careful.
Arsenal meanwhile had to play the patient game and wore Sunderland down with three well-executed goals when the opportunities arose to capitalise on defensive gaps and mistakes, which might stand them well as they will be able to soak up Brentford’s attack and try to hit them on the counter.
Although I do feel that Brentford will get a goal here, their defence could be their undoing against Arsenal who will surely go strong here then make changes in the FA Cup at home to Wigan on Sunday.
Prediction: Brentford 1-2 Arsenal
Result: Brentford 1-1 Arsenal
