Liverpool continue their top-four Premier League push against Fulham in a tricky test at Anfield.
Victory would see Liverpool stay fifth for another matchweek, whilst Fulham can climb as high as seventh if win by five goals or more and Brentford draw against Everton.
Team News
Liverpool have no fresh injury concerns following their 2-0 defeat at PSG in the first leg of their Champions League Quarter-Final.
Alisson (muscle), Wataru Endo (ankle), Conor Bradley (knee) and Giovanni Leoni (ACL) remain absent.
Fulham will be without midfielder, Harrison Reed after he suffered a minor knee injury in training.
Calvin Bassey is set to be involved after recovering from a back injury during the international break, which saw him withdraw from Nigeria’s squad.
Kenny Tete (foot) and Kevin (metatarsal) is still ruled out.
When is Kick-Off?
Liverpool host Fulham at Anfield on Saturday 11 April at 5:30pm BST, live on Sky Sports in the UK.
Stat Attack
- Liverpool have lost just one of their last seven league meetings against Fulham (W3, D3, L1).
- Fulham have won one of their last seven league visits to Liverpool at Anfield (W1, D1, L5).
- Both Liverpool and Fulham have scored in six of their last seven league meetings, except for a 1-0 victory for Liverpool at home in May 2023.
- Liverpool have failed to keep clean sheets in any of their last four top-flight matches (W1, D1, L2).
- Fulham have lost one of their last five league matches (W3, D1, L1).
Prediction
With three consecutive away defeats and comfortably outplayed in their last two matches against Manchester City in FA Cup and at PSG respectively, Liverpool will be glad to be at home because this is a must-win if they want to stay ahead of the chasing pack but their defending has to be better.
In fact Arne Slot would be wise to just forget their Champions League title bid right now and put his strongest starting line-up out for this match, as this is more important than the second leg against PSG on Tuesday as that looks near-impossible to turn around on current form.
Fulham meanwhile produced a clinical comeback to beat Burnley after a lacklustre contest burst into life in the last half-hour, but they now need to build on that and hold little fear given their poor form at Anfield.
If they do indeed turn up and play on the attacking front foot and can pressure Liverpool’s low-confidence defence, I can see an away win coming but Liverpool realistically should nick something if Slot and the team approach this more seriously and forget the Champions League.
Prediction: Liverpool 1-1 Fulham
