Bournemouth have completed the permanent transfer of Alex Jimenez from AC Milan after an activation clause in his loan deal was met.
Jimenez joined the Cherries on loan on deadline day in the summer transfer window in September 2025 and has gone on to score one goal in 22 appearances in all competitions, of which an appearance-related obligation-to-buy clause was triggered when he started their 1-1 draw at home to Aston Villa last weekend.
Bournemouth have subsequently completed the transfer which has seen the 20-year-old full-back, who can also play at wing-back and wide midfielder positions – sign a five-and-a-half year contract at the Vitality Stadium until June 2031.
Under the deal, the club has paid a £17 million transfer fee to AC Milan whilst their will be a further £4.3m in add-ons, which will be split between AC Milan and his former club, Real Madrid who held a sell-on clause in his move to the Italian club.
Bournemouth’s President of Football Operations, Tiago Pinto explained to the club website that Jimenez has showcased his talent and commitment to the team despite having only been on loan until the clause was activated.
“Alex is a young talent, who has already demonstrated his energy and commitment to the squad during these opening months with the club.
“He has incredible pedigree, having begun his development at both Real Madrid and AC Milan. We’re delighted to have him as part of our project, which began last summer and now continues after the obligation was triggered.”
