Germany have been named as host of UEFA Women’s Euro 2029 tournament.
Following a vote at UEFA Executive Committee’s final meeting of 2025, Germany was unanimously awarded the tournament hosting rights with 15 of the 17 submitted votes, of which Denmark’s joint bid with Sweden received two votes whilst Poland failed to amass any votes.
UEFA President, Aleksander Ceferin thanked Denmark, Sweden and Poland for their “tireless work and commitment” to their bids, which he considered to be a “showcased vision” of their bids.
“I want to sincerely thank all three bid delegations for their tireless work and commitment throughout the process.
“Each bid showcased vision and exceptional teamwork between national associations, governments and local experts, all inspired by the benchmark set by Switzerland last summer,” explained Ceferin who proceeded to congratulate Germany on their successful bid.
“Congratulations to Germany – we look forward to an unforgettable tournament in the summer of 2029!”
UEFA have confirmed that the following eight stadiums will host matches across the tournament.
- Cologne Stadium (Cologne)
- BVB Stadion Dortmund (Dortmund)
- Dusseldorf Arena (Dusseldorf)
- Frankfurt Arena (Frankfurt)
- Niedersachsenstadion (Hanover)
- Leipzig Stadium (Leipzig)
- Munich Football Arena (Munich)
- Wolfsburg Arena (Wolfsburg)
This will be the third occasion that Germany have hosted the Women’s Euro after 1989 and 2001, which saw them win the title at both of their two previous home tournaments.
England will enter the tournament as the two-time defending champions with dates set to be announced in due course.
