Aston Martin has announced an organisational restructure of its F1 team as Andy Cowell replaces Mike Krack as Team Principal.
The move sees Cowell become Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Team Principal – having previously just served as the team’s CEO since October 2024, with Aston Martin opting to create a more clarified leadership with the Aerodynamics, Engineering and Performance Departments reporting to him.
Speaking as Team Principal for the first time, Cowell spoke of the team’s commitment ahead of their transition to becoming a full works team in 2026 with Honda power.
“I have spent the last three months understanding and assessing our performance, and I’ve been incredibly impressed by the dedication, commitment and hard work of this team.
“With the completion of the AMR Technology Campus and our transition in 2026 to a full works team, alongside our strategic partners Honda and Aramco, we are on a journey to becoming a Championship-winning team.
“These organisational changes are a natural evolution of the multi-year plans that we have scheduled to make and I’m incredibly excited about the future.”
Krack will stay with the team as he moves into a Chief Trackside Officer role, having been the Team Principal since his arrival at the team in 2022.
Enrico Cardile will take up the Chief Technical Officer position heading up a team that can fully ‘focus’ on designing the new race cars, as F1 prepares for new technical regulations to commence at the start of the 2026 season.
Tom McCullough will stay with the team in a leadership role covering the team’s range of racing categories, having been part of the team for over 11 years.
