West Ham host table-topping Manchester City in a Premier League clash at London Stadium.
Victory would put West Ham higher into the top ten, whilst Man City can stay top of the table with a win.
Team News
Aaron Creswell is ruled out for West Ham after he suffered a hamstring injury in warm-up, ahead of their Carabao Cup win over Bournemouth.
Man City could have Phil Foden (illness) and Mateo Kovacic (knock) available for selection.
Rodri (fitness) could make his first appearance of the season, but Oscar Bobb (leg) remains ruled out.
When is Kick-Off?
West Ham host Man City at London Stadium on Saturday 31 August at 5:30pm BST, live on Sky Sports in the UK.
Stat Attack
- West Ham are winless in their last 17 league meetings against Man City (D3, L14).
- Man City are unbeaten in their last nine top-flight trips to West Ham (W6, D3).
- City’s Erling Haaland has scored three goals in two previous visits to West Ham (W2).
- Max Kilman has made more passes than any of his West Ham in their opening two fixtures (137).
- All four of Haaland’s goals this month came on his left foot.
Prediction
With their season finally up and running after clinical wins over Crystal Palace and Bournemouth in the past week, West Ham now face a tough test because they must be defensively robust but clinical if want to beat Man City.
Pep Guardiola’s Cityzens meanwhile blew Ipswich away after an initial sloppy defensive start which caused them to be sucker-punched on the counter-attack, but I do think that they won’t make the same mistakes here.
In fact, I am expecting a routine City win.
Prediction: West Ham 0-2 Manchester City
Result: West Ham 1-3 Manchester City
