Tottenham Hotspur host Aston Villa in a blockbuster clash at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the Premier League title race.
Victory would see Tottenham climb into third but move to within one point of the summit, whilst Villa can leapfrog Spurs into fourth and put themselves right into title contention.

Stat Attack
- Tottenham have won two of their last five meetings against Aston Villa (W2, L3).
- Aston Villa have won two of their last five visits to Tottenham (W2, L3).
- Both teams have scored in four of their last five meetings, except for a 2-0 win for Aston Villa in January 2023.
- Spur’ manager, Ange Postecoglou is looking to avoid suffering three consecutive defeats in all competitions for the first time since December 2020 – February 2021 at Yokohama F. Marinos
- Boubacar Kamara has been booked in each of Villa’s last two away matches in the league.
Prediction
Having had two weeks to reflect on their late defensive collapse in their loss at Wolves, Tottenham now need to reset and come back with a better end product than in their last two matches.
With Bissouma already suspended, Sarr realistically need to be fit because otherwise those two will be huge losses in midfield given their form this season, yet this will be a chance for Oliver Skipp and Pierre Emile Hojbjerg to step up and show their worth.
Villa meanwhile comfortably dispatched Fulham before the international break in a confident performance with a nice energetic yet clinical attacking play, but this will be a tough test for them given their away inconsistency this season in the league.
This particular game however takes on extra importance after earlier results this weekend because a defeat would damage any title aspirations that both teams have, so I do expect this to be close but Villa should have enough if can get at Tottenham’s now shaky defence.
Prediction: Tottenham 1-2 Aston Villa
Result: Tottenham 1-2 Aston Villa
