Manchester United face Manchester City in a huge local derby as both teams look to boost their Premier League title ambitions.
If Brighton fail to beat Coventry in the mid-afternoon kick-off, Man Utd can climb to fourth with victory.
Man City meanwhile can return to the summit of the table with a win by two goals or more.
Team News
Luke Shaw could return for Man Utd after he sat out their 4-0 Champions League win over Sabah due to cramp.
Carlos Baleba (ankle), Amad Diallo (ankle/muscle), Tom Heaton (knock), Matthijs De Ligt (back) and Manuel Ugarte (knee) are still sidelined.
Man City have no fresh injury concerns after their 2-0 victory at Porto in the Champions League.
Nico O’Reilly (back) could return but Jeremy Doku (calf) won’t be risked.
When is Kick-Off?
Man Utd host Man City at Old Trafford on Sunday 13 September at 4:30pm BST, live on Sky Sports Main Event and Premier League in the UK.
Stat Attack
- Man Utd have lost one of their last four league meetings against Man City (W2, D1, L1).
- Man City have lost two of their last six league visits to Man Utd (W2, D2, L2).
- Six of Utd’s seven league goals in their first three matches were scored after half time.
- City are looking to keep consecutive clean sheets in the league for the first time under Enzo Maresca,
Prediction
Inconsistency seems to sum up Utd’s season so far because whilst they certainly can produce goals, the results aren’t exactly consistent, but they need to use their clean sheet over Sabah as a base to improve and find consecutive wins for the first time this season.
City though played their Champions League game 48 hours before Utd which was perhaps unfair as it has given them extra preparation time, although they did have to be patient and clinical in beating Porto despite their dominance which is something that Utd could punish on a counter-attack.
Nevertheless I expect a tough game with local pride at stake but given their fitness and preparation advantage, I fancy City to edge this.
Prediction: Man Utd 1-2 Man City
Result: Man Utd 0-1 Man City
