Ex England Youngster – Jamal Musiala Named in Germany Euro 2020 Squad

Ex England Under-20 star, Jamal Musiala has been named in Germany’s squad as manager, Joachim Low prepares to bow out after Euro 2020.

Musiala’s maiden call-up comes just months after he pledged his international allegiance to Germany, following a brief spell playing for England’s U21s in November.

Six Premier League stars have been called up for Low’s final major tournament in charge of the 2014 World Cup winners, with Chelsea boasting three of those six players in; Antonio Rudiger, Kai Havertz and Timo Werner.

Arsenal’s Bernd Leno has been selected as one of three goalkeepers, whilst Leeds’ Robin Koch and Manchester City’s Ilkay Gundogan are amongst defensive and midfield selections respectively.

In total, Bayern Munich have provided eight of Germany’s 26-man squad with notable names including Manuel Neuer, Serge Gnabry, Leroy Sane, Thomas Muller and Musiala.

Germany will play all three of their Group F matches at this summer’s pan-European tournament in Munich, kicking off against their World Cup successors – France on Tuesday 15 June 2021 in a 8pm kick-off UK Time.

Low’s squad will then take on Portugal on 19 and 23 June respectively at 2pm and 8 pm UK Time respectively.

Germany will play warm-up games against Denmark and Latvia on 2 and 7 June respectively ahead of the tournament.
