Stockton Town have announced three pre-season matches ahead of 2021-22 season, with all three fixtures to be played at home.
Michael Dunwell’s Anchors yesterday were officially promoted from the Northern League to Step Four where they will play in Northern Premier League East, but will take on three former opponents from their old division in their three opening pre-season fixtures.
Stockton will host Newton Aycliffe at the MAP Group UK Stadium in their first friendly fixture on Wednesday 7 July 2021, with kick-off currently scheduled for 7:45pm.
It is however worth noting that this fixture could potentially change if England feature in the Euro 2020 semi-final on that evening, by virtue of winning their Group or end up in the bottom half of the knockout draw through a third-placed finish in Group D.
A similar fate befell the Anchors’ pre-season trip to Northallerton during 2018-19 season, which saw the game brought forward by 24 hours to avoid England’s eventual World Cup semi-final exit to Croatia.
Stockton will then host Guisborough Town on Saturday 10 July in a 3pm kick-off, with the Anchors unbeaten in three of four previous home games against the Priorymen.
Billingham Synthonia will visit Stockton on Wednesday 14 July in a local derby, with both teams having each won one of their last two clashes on Stockton’s turf by 2-0 results.
Further details on future fixtures and matchday information will be released in due course.
