Bromley have been crowned 2025-26 Sky Bet League Two champions after a 3-1 victory against Walsall at CopperJax Stadium.
Ben Thompson fired Bromley in front from a 37th-minute corner before Mitch Pinnock’s strike and Omar Sowunmi’s header clinched victory.
Walsall however denied Andy Woodman’s Ravens a clean sheet after Jid Okeke netted a 62nd-minute consolatory effort.
Bromley’s victory
Although the title was out of their hands after their loss at Salford in the penultimate matchweek saw MK Dons leapfrog them for the first time in 2026, Bromley had a chance to go the whole league campaign unbeaten at home but were handed an early scare as Kacper Lopata fired wide for Walsall in the fourth minute.
Walsall continued to push for the opening goal in the opening half hour as Aaron Pressley put a shot and two headers wide, whilst Bromley’s Thompson saw a shot blocked in the 18th minute before he then fired over from Mitch Pinnock’s 27th-minute pass.
MK Dons meanwhile slipped behind at Fleetwood Town in the 24th minute to Ronan Coughlan’s overhead kick which sparked Bromley into life, as Ashley Charles curled a free-kick over before Thompson and Sowunmi put headers wide.
Just as MK Dons equalised at MK Dons through Callum Paterson’s finish in the 37th minute, Bromley broke their deadlock against Walsall through Thompson’s strike from Charles’ pass to take the lead against Walsall and moved top of the table at that point and into half time.
Walsall however refused to roll over as Albert Adomah saw early quick-fire second-half shots blocked then fly wide much to Bromley’s relief.
Courtney Clarke’s 58th-minute shot was saved by Grant Smith as Walsall continued to pile on the pressure, which left them exposed to a long ball from Idris Odutayo that was met by Thompson but parried away by Myles Roberts, who recovered to flap Jude Arthurs follow-up shot over the bar.
Bromley however beat Roberts just two minutes later as Nicke Kabamba set up Pinnock to cut in from the right with a shot which was deflected in off a Walsall defender.
Walsall however responded with a double substitution which immediately got them back into the game in the 62nd minute, as Alex Pattison’s pass across the box was deflected towards Okeke who rolled the ball into the net.
MK Dons meanwhile struggled to break Fleetwood down as Bromley restored their two-goal lead in the 66th minute after Arthurs’ shot was deflected behind, which allowed Sowunmi to nod in at the far-left post from Pinnock’s corner.
Charles continued to be frustrated in his attempts to score as his 76th-minute shot was punched away by Roberts, before Kabamba saw a shot blocked just two minutes later.
Bromley eventually saw out the game for a comfortable win in front of a sold-out stadium and after a brief wait, they were crowned champions after Fleetwood held MK Dons, which sparked wild celebrations amongst players and home fans on top of the fact that they’ve gone the league campaign unbeaten at home.
