2019-20 Premier League: Week 27 – Wolves vs Norwich

Wolverhampton Wanderers look to continue their bid for a top five finish as they welcome relegation battling Norwich to Molineux on Super Sunday.

Wolves could climb to seventh with victory whilst Norwich will move to within four points of safety with a win.

Ruben Vinagre remains Wolves’ only absentee as he continues to recover from a thigh injury picked up against Manchester United last month.

Norwich could have Onel Hernandez and Christoph Zimmerman available if they can recover from respective knee and hamstring injuries.

Sam Byram is out for rest of season with a thigh injury but Timm Klose could return in early April from a lengthy knee injury.

Form

Wolves enter this match with one league loss in their last five (W1, D3, L1) on top of clean sheets in their last three matches in all competitions, although they have kept just one clean sheet in their last five league games at home.

Norwich come into this game with just one win in their last 13 league outings (W1, D5, L7), but have scored just three goals in their last six away trips.

Stat Attack

  • Wolves have lost just one of three previous Premier League meetings against Norwich (W1, D1, L1).
  • Norwich have won just one of their last 16 trips to Molineux (W1, D6, L9).
  • Both teams have scored in each of their three previous Premier League clashes, with both clubs taking 2-1 wins from their last two match-ups.
  • One of Norwich’s five Premier League goals against Wolves came from the penalty spot, courtesy of Grant Holt in March 2012 at Carrow Road in a 2-1 win.
  • No Premier League goalkeeper has conceded more goals this season than Norwich’s Tim Krul.

Prediction

Wolves were just pure ruthless against Espanyol on Thursday night to get a brilliant first leg victory, which probably means that we should see less rotation than probably expected if the Europa tie was still in the balance.

Norwich however are going to have to just continue to press like they did last weekend against Liverpool, because if Wolves can quickly hit their stride and rip the defence to pieces like they did on Thursday then this could be a brutal defeat.

I however can see Wolves easing up a bit here in order to keep the squad injury free, although they should still get the win if can show the same quality as we saw on Thursday.

Prediction: Wolves 2-0 Norwich City

Result: Wolves 3-0 Norwich City
