Newcastle United have signed winger, Bazoumana Toure from Hoffenheim for an undisclosed transfer fee.
Toure’s arrival on Tyneside comes after a breakthrough first full season at Hoffenheim in which he produced five goals and seven assists in all competitions, having previously joined the German club from Sweden’s Hammarby in February 2025.
The 20 year-old winger has signed a long-term contract at Newcastle and can’t wait to make his debut in the Premier League for the Magpies, who he considered to have a familial vibe.
“I’m very, very happy to be here. It was my dream since I was young to play in the Premier League for a big team like Newcastle.
“Newcastle is like a family, which will help me show my best on the pitch. I will give my best every single day for this shirt.
“I’m very excited to join Newcastle and I can’t wait to meet my team-mates, the supporters and everybody at the club. I’m also very excited to play at St. James’ Park for the first time.”
Head Coach, Eddie Howe added that he is “really pleased” to sign Toure who he believes has already established himself as capable of delivering at the top-tier level.
“He has shown his ability to perform in a top European league during his time in Germany and has gained really good experience with his national team, especially at this summer’s World Cup.
“We feel that he’s a player with a really high ceiling – he’s somebody who we believe can offer us something different. He also a lot of potential to unlock and we’re really looking forward to working with him.”
Toure began his career at ASEC Mimosas where he graduated through their academy to help them claim the 2022-23 Ligue 1 (Ivory Coast) title, before he moved to Hammarby in early 2024 where he produced eight goals and three assists in all competitions.
February 2025 saw him join Hoffenheim where he was gently integrated into the first-team squad with three assists in 13 appearances in the second half of the 2024-25 season, before his breakthrough campaign last season.
Toure represents Ivory Coast at international level and following his first senior call-up in September 2025, he has gone on to score two goals in nine appearances – of which both goals came in match-clinching wins over Gabon and Burkina Faso at the 2026 Africa Cup of Nations.
