Brentford have signed midfielder, Ben Wilson from Glenavon for an undisclosed transfer fee.
The 18-year-old midfielder will join Brentford’s B-Team after a successful 2025-26 season saw him produce two goals and one assist in 14 appearances for Glenavon across; Northern Ireland Premiership, Irish Cup and Mid Ulster Cup totalling 884 first-team minutes.
Brentford’s B-Team Head Coach, Sam Saunders is “really pleased” to sign Wilson after a successful “short trial period” with the club.
“We’re really pleased to get Ben into the B team. He came over for a short trial period and showed his qualities, a really coachable lad that works really hard.
“Being so young, there’s lots of development areas that we feel we can help. He’s tenacious, a box-to-box midfielder that wants to win his duels and can help the team without the ball but also can break into the box with his energy and create and score goals.
“We’re looking forward to getting him in, seeing him improve and add competition for places in what’s going to be a really testing season this year.”
Wilson’s move has ended his seven-year spell at Glenavon where he graduated through their academy to make his senior debut aged 16-years-old in the 2024-25 season, and has now left after 20 total senior appearances for the club across the last two seasons combined.
Wilson also represents Northern Ireland at international level, having featured for the Under-17s squad in 2025.
