Roundup of latest Premier League action as the title race and relegation battle continued to take twists and turns.

Erling Haaland fired Manchester City top of the table with a fifth-minute chipped winner in a 1-0 victory at second-bottom Burnley, which relegated the Clarets as that clash was brought forward due to City’s subsequent FA Cup semi-final involvement which saw them defeat Southampton in a 2-1 comeback win.

Arsenal however regained top spot on Saturday evening after Eberechi Eze netted a ninth-minute winner over Newcastle in a 1-0 win at the Emirates Stadium.

Casemiro’s header and Benjamin Sesko’s finish saw third-placed Manchester United clinch a 2-1 victory at home to Brentford, despite Mathias Jensen’s late consolatory curled strike for the Bees.

Goals from Alexander Isak, Andrew Robertson and Florian Wirtz saw Liverpool climb to fourth with a 3-1 victory over Crystal Palace at Anfield, despite Daniel Munoz’s consolatory finish for Palace which briefly reduced their deficit midway through the second-half.

Aston Villa slipped to fifth on goal difference after a rare defeat at Fulham in which Ryan Sessegnon netted a 43rd-minute rebound winner.

Down in the relegation zone, Joao Palhinha struck a close-range 82nd-minute winner as third-bottom Tottenham picked up their first league win of 2026 at relegated Wolves.

West Ham however remain two points clear of Spurs and above the drop after Callum Wilson delivered a 92nd-minute winner in a 2-1 win at home to Everton, having initially led through Tomas Soucek’s header before Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall briefly equalised late on.

Nottingham Forest in 16th position remained five points clear of the bottom three with a ruthless 5-0 victory at Sunderland, as Trai Hume’s own-goal opened the scoring before Chris Wood, Morgan Gibbs-White, Igor Jesus and Elliot Anderson found the net.

Elsewhere, Brighton cruised to a comfortable 3-0 win at home over Chelsea through goals from Ferdi Kadioglu, Jack Hinshelwood and Danny Welbeck, which lifted Fabian Hurzeler’s Seagulls up to sixth.

Sean Longstaff’s 97th-minute equaliser salvaged a 2-2 draw for Leeds away at Bournemouth, with Eli Junior Kroupi and Rayan having twice put the Cherries in front either side of James Hill’s own-goal.
