Egyptian forward, Mohamed Salah has announced that he will depart Liverpool at the end of the 2025-26 season.
Salah’s departure will bring his nine-year stint at Anfield to a close and comes just a few months after tensions arose between him and manager, Arne Slot which brought his future into question ahead of the January transfer window although he subsequently stayed at the club.
Salah has scored 255 goals in 435 appearances so far for Liverpool and helped the club to nine titles across his spell, which included;
- 2 x Premier League
- 2 x League Cup
- 1 x FA Cup
- 1 x UEFA Champions League
- 1 x FIFA Club World Cup
- 1 x UEFA Super Cup
- 1 x FA Community Shield
In a club statement confirming Salah’s exit, Liverpool confirmed Salah wished to announce his exit now to prevent wild media rumours in the run-in, and provide clarity for everyone at the club as they chase a top-four Premier League finish.
“The forward has reached an agreement with the Reds that will see him close a remarkable nine-year chapter at Anfield.
“Salah expressed his wish to make this announcement to the supporters at the earliest possible opportunity to provide transparency about his future due to his respect and gratitude for them.”
During his time at the club, Salah has won a record-equalling four Premier League Golden Boot awards, seven Player of the Month awards, alongside 11 PFA Player of the Month gongs and three PFA Players’ Player of the Year gongs.
He also won two Premier League Player of the Season and Playmaker of the Season awards apiece.
