2025-26 Premier League: Week 27 – Everton vs Man Utd

Everton host top-four-chasing Manchester United in a big Premier League fixture.

Victory or a draw will lift Everton up to eighth in the table, whilst Man Utd will return to fourth if they avoid defeat.

 

Team News

Jake O’Brien is suspended for Everton after he was red carded in their 2-1 home defeat to Bournemouth in their last outing.

Jack Grealish remains ruled out with a foot injury.

Man Utd have no fresh injury concerns to report after their 1-1 draw at West Ham nearly two weeks ago.

Mason Mount (knock), Patrick Dorgu (hamstring) and Matthijs De Ligt (back) are still ruled out.

• Man Utd have lost one of their last five visits to Everton (W3, D2, L1), although this is their first trip to Hill Dickinson Stadium.
• Victory would see Everton achieve a first league double over Man Utd since 2013-14 season.

Prediction

Having been outclassed at home to Bournemouth nearly two weeks ago through second-half defensive errors amidst wasteful finishing, Everton really need to just regroup and be more clinical if they’re to realistically give themselves a solid chance at European qualification now.

Man Utd meanwhile knew that they were going to be tested at West Ham given the form of both teams so to snatch a late draw after they conceded first was a fair result, especially given their dominance in the last half hour of that game which will give them confidence here.

I though do think that Everton will give them another tough scrap but without O’Brien in their defence and lack of goals in contrast to Utd, I can see David Moyes’ Toffees coming unstuck but they will not make this easy.
