Fulham have signed midfielder, Oscar Bobb from Manchester City for £27m.
Bobb’s move ends his six-and-a-half year spell at City where he graduated through their youth academy to score three goals in 47 appearances, during which he won the Premier League title during his first season with the senior team in the 2023-24 campaign.
That season also saw him feature in City’s title-winning UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup squads, as well as their 2024 FA Community Shield success, but he has recently fallen down City’s pecking order after he missed much of last season with a leg fracture.
City’s signing of Antoine Semenyo earlier this month ultimately prompted Bobb to seek a move away to gain regular game time, which led the club to agree a £27m transfer fee with Fulham which included a 20% sell-on clause plus matching rights for any future bids received by the Cottagers.
Speaking to FFCtv following his transfer on a five-and-a-half year contract until June 2031, Bobb explained that he is glad to already settle into his new environment and credited manager, Marco Silva for wanting to sign him.
“It feels great to be here. I had a great day meeting everyone and I’m very excited.
“I’ve always known Fulham to be a good club, with good players and a great stadium. I spoke to Sander, my good friend, and I spoke to the Manager, and he explained what the system’s like, and how the lads are, and how the Club is.
“He seemed lovely, so it was an easy decision basically.”
Vice-Chairman and Director of Football Operations, Tony Khan added: “I’m thrilled to welcome Oscar Bobb to Fulham! He is an exciting young player who is eager to come and play for the Club, as we aim to continue the team’s positive momentum through the second half of the season and plan for a promising future!”
