2025-26 Premier League: Week 24 – Wolves vs Bournemouth

Relegation-battling Wolves face European qualification chasing Bournemouth in a Premier League clash at Molineux.

Victory would move rock-bottom Wolves to within 14 points of safety, whilst Bournemouth can climb as high as 11th with a win.

Team News

Ladislav Krejci is a slight doubt for Wolves after he missed training this week due to illness.

Jean-Ricner Bellegarde and Toti Gomes both remain ruled out with hamstring injuries.

Bournemouth manager, Andoni Iraola could hand new signings, Rayan and Christos Mandas their club debuts.

Julio Soler (unspecified), David Brooks, Will Dennis (both ankle), Ben Doak, Marcus Tavernier (both hamstring), Tyler Adams, Justin Kluivert (both knee) and Matai Akinmboni (muscle) remain absent.

When is Kick-Off?

Wolves host Bournemouth at Molineux on Saturday 31 January at 3pm GMT, untelevised live in the UK.

Stat Attack

  • Wolves have claimed seven points from three of their last seven league meetings against Bournemouth (W2, D1, L4).
  • Bournemouth have won three of their last five league trips to Wolves (W3, L2).
  • Two of Bournemouth’s last three league wins at Wolves were by 1-0 results in February 2023 and April 2024 respectively.
  • Wolves have kept clean sheets in their two league games at home in 2026 (W1, D1), having beat West Ham 3-0 then drew 0-0 against Newcastle.
  • Evanilson has scored in three of Bournemouth’s last four league matches.

Prediction

Although defeat was inevitable at Manchester City, Wolves should be pleased to have only lost 2-0 in a first half where they were outplayed because they eventually matched City in the attacking stats with a much more positive second half, which will give them confidence coming into this game.

Bournemouth however were absolutely clinical to beat Liverpool despite having been outplayed by the Reds for much of the game, but they did concede twice from set-pieces when 2-0 up which shows that their defence is still vulnerable but their persistence got them the 3-2 win eventually.

Both teams though do seem to be showing signs of progress so I expect this to be a good battle but I can’t see Bournemouth losing this if they can improve their defensive work at set-pieces.

Prediction: Wolves 1-2 Bournemouth

Result: Wolves 0-2 Bournemouth
