Roundup of the seventh round of the 2026 F2 season as it reached the halfway mark at Silverstone, Great Britain.
Gabriele Mini arrived at Silverstone with a slender two-point title lead over Nikola Tsolov as the pair looked to consolidate their title challenges amidst outside pressure from Rafael Camara and Alex Dunne.
The weekend however set a potential season-defining marker in the title race as one of the contenders achieved a rare double.
Practice
PREMA’s Sebastian Montoya was first on track and laid 1m 59.848 as the initial benchmark, which he soon lowered to 1m 43.555 ahead of Mini by 0.025 seconds, although Mini’s lap was soon deleted.
Dunne however topped the opening set of flying laps with 1m 43.143 and 0.085s clear of his Rodin teammate, Martinius Stenshorne.
Mini responded with 1m 42.865 in the 14th minute to go quickest, but was soon displaced by Dunne who set 1m 42.513 to head Camara and John Bennett after everyone completed their second flying laps.
Camara however produced 1m 42.136 in the 19th minute to head the order at the halfway mark, but Dunne waited until the 34th minute before he set 1m 42.065 to top the session from Camara by 0.071s, with DAMS’ Dino Beganovic a further 0.005s back in third.

Qualifying
Like in Practice, Montoya was first on track and set 2m 04.478 as the initial unrepresentative benchmark time, which he soon lowered to 1m 41.765 in the seventh minute.
His time however was usurped by several drivers as Maini headed the order on 1m 40.764 ahead of Villagomez by 0.187s, whilst Camara, Durksen, Dunne, Herta and Goethe had their opening laps deleted due to various breaches of track limits.
Dunne on his second attempt responded with 1m 40.536 in the 12th minute to put himself quickest ahead of the final runs, which saw Goethe, Tsolov, Bilinski then Maini go fastest in quick succession across the 24th and 25th minutes.
Camara however saved his best time for late in the 25th minute to lay down 1m 39.690 which proved enough for a third feature race pole, as Dunne fell 0.201s shy of the Brazilian to join him on the front row.
Maini, Bilinski, Tsolov, Inthraphuvasak, Durksen, Villagomez, Miyata and Mini rounded out the top ten.

Sprint Race
Mini made a clean start from reverse-pole whilst Miyata lost second to Villagomez as the Mexican swept past on the outside of Abbey, whilst Tsolov and Durksen followed through later that lap after Tsolov had passed the Paraguayan on the inside of Abbey.
Maini then cleared Miyata out of Village into the Loop on the second lap to demote the Japanese driver to fifth.
The safety car however was deployed on that lap after Montoya had ran wide out of Club onto the Hamilton Straight, which left Bennett ploughing into the rear of his PREMA due to the Colombian having been unsighted as Bennett tried to take avoiding action.
Racing resumed at the end of lap six and Tsolov two laps later cleared Villagomez around the outside of Stowe for second but soon had to settle behind Mini.
Inthraphuvasak meanwhile cleared Bilinski into Luffield on lap seven then passed Miyata two laps later for sixth, as Miyata soon fell out of the points-paying positions as Bilinski, Beganovic and Dunne cleared him between laps 13 and 14 respectively.
Beganovic then cleared Bilinski for sixth at the end of lap 14 in a close battle between the DAMS drivers.
Maini meanwhile cleared Durksen into Luffield on lap 15 for fourth on the inside line after he ran round the outside of Brooklands, and Inthraphuvasak followed through on the next lap.
Durksen subsequently fell to eighth as Beganovic and Bilinski cleared him on laps 19 and 20 respectively.
Up front, Mini’s effort to manage his tyres proved in vain as Tsolov reeled him to within DRS range from lap 15 and after a couple of blocked opportunities, the Bulgarian cleared his title rival into Brooklands on the final lap to snatch victory and the title lead with five wins to Mini’s single win on countback.
Villagomez finished third ahead of Maini, Inthraphuvasak, Beganovic, Bilinski and Durksen.

Feature Race
Camara got bogged down at the start to fourth as Maini blasted from third into the lead ahead of Tsolov – who had began fifth on the grid – and Dunne, although Dunne was passed by Camara into the Loop after the Brazilian ran deep on the exit of Village and over the white line as he made his move.
Camara however conceded the position back to Dunne at Stowe on the second lap, whilst Inthraphuvasak cleared Bilinski for fifth on the opening lap and was followed through by Villagomez and Durksen by the end of the fifth lap.
Up front, Maini, Tsolov, Dunne and Camara led the soft-tyre runners who pitted at the end of lap six and rejoined in that net lead order, whilst Villagomez calmly headed the alternative hard-tyre strategy runners as he built an extensive gap to Durksen of over six seconds by lap 15.
Amongst the net lead runners, Maini held off Tsolov who tactically opted to back off after two laps of pressuring the ART GP driver into an error, but Tsolov eventually reeled him back into DRS range by lap 19.
Tsolov ultimately passed Maini round the outside of Copse into Maggots a lap later to take the net lead.
Up front, Villagomez extended his lead over Durksen to over nine seconds when the latter made his stop on lap 24 and the Mexican followed suit a lap later, which saw him rejoin fifth but immediately passed by Dunne into the Loop on warmer tyres then by Camara.
Villagomez soon cleared Camara, Dunne and Maini to finish second behind Tsolov who became the first double-race winner in a single round since Zane Maloney in Bahrain back in 2024.
Mini executed the alternative strategy to snatch sixth ahead of Leon, Bilinski, Durksen and Inthraphuvasak.
Tsolov’s win meant that he opened a 17-point title lead over Mini as the grid now heads to Belgium on weekend of 17-19 July.
