Crawley Town have signed midfielder, Jude Arthurs on a free transfer.
Arthurs had been a free agent since his contract at Bromley expired on Tuesday 30 June despite extensive negotiations to try and extend his seven-year spell at Hayes Lane, amidst speculation that he was destined for a League One or Scottish Premiership club.
The 24 year-old midfielder – who was an integral part of Bromley’s promotion into the EFL in 2024 then successful League Two title-winning squad last season – however has decided to remain in the fourth tier for a third consecutive season, having signed a two-year contract at Crawley with an one-year extension option.
Crawley’s Head Coach, Colin Kazim-Richard believes that the decision to sign Arthurs is a statement of intent on the club’s ambitions for this season, after having only secured EFL survival on the final day of last season.
“I think this is a top signing and shows exactly where the club wants to go, and where the club’s current standards are. To be able to sign a captain of a side that won the league last year is incredible.
“The energy and standards that he brings at this level are the highest, and he has even more levels to reach. For how we want to play, he is going to be a catalyst for sure.”
