Manchester United host Everton in a mid-table Premier League clash at Old Trafford.
Victory by three goals or more would lift Man Utd up to fourth in the table, whilst Everton can leapfrog their hosts into tenth with a win by two goals or more.
Team News
Harry Maguire is ruled out for Man Utd after he suffered a muscle injury in their 2-2 draw at Tottenham before the international break.
Kobbie Mainoo (unspecified) is a doubt but Benjamin Sesko (knee) and Lisandro Martinez (fitness) won’t be involved.
Everton will be without Merlin Rohl until the festive period after the German midfielder needed surgery on a hernia.
Nathan Patterson (groin) and Jarrad Branthwaite (hamstring) remain sidelined.
When is Kick-Off?
Man Utd host Everton at Old Trafford on Monday 24 November at 8pm GMT, live on Sky Sports in the UK.
Stat Attack
- Man Utd are unbeaten in their last six league meetings against Everton (W5, D1).
- Everton are winless in their last 11 league visits to Man Utd (D4, L7).
- United have kept clean sheets in four of their last five meetings against Everton.
- Casemiro has scored in two of Utd’s last three home matches.
- Two of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall’s four yellow cards for Everton this season were shown away from home.
Prediction
Lucky to snatch a scrappy 2-2 draw at Tottenham in which they blew a narrow lead late on through some sloppy defensive play then seen shock results this weekend, Man Utd know that this is a huge chance to get a win and go fourth in the table if can avoid any silly defensive errors.
Maguire’s presence and leadership though will be a big loss for their defence but this is a game where they will be favourites, even without Sesko who hasn’t exactly made the anticipated impact expected of him.
Everton meanwhile absolutely battered Fulham but crucially had the composure to not get frustrated when chances went begging, because they kept their cool and produced two clinical goals and those qualities will be key if they’re to snatch a result here.
I however just can’t see Utd losing this at home given their form against the Toffees, but Everton should give them a tough test if nail their defensive play and possibly nick a point given that their hosts have drawn their two games so far this month.
Prediction: Man Utd 1-1 Everton
Result: Man Utd 0-1 Everton
