Fleetwood Town seek a giant killing as they host Arsenal in the fourth round of the 2026-27 Carabao Cup.
Victory would extend Fleetwood’s longest run in this competition, whilst Arsenal are looking to reach the Quarter-Finals for the third consecutive season.
Team News
Rhys Bennett is available for Fleetwood after he was suspended for their 2-1 loss at Exeter City in League Two.
Andy Cannon (fitness) is a doubt but Will Johnson and Kane Thompson-Sommers are ruled out with unspecified injuries.
Arsenal have no fresh injury concerns after their 2-0 Premier League win over Everton, but manager – Mikel Arteta is set to rotate with Viktor Gyokeres, Max Dowman and Kepa Arrizabalga amongst those set for a start.
Bukayo Saka (quad), Christos Tzolis (hamstring) and William Saliba (back) remain absent.
When is Kick-Off?
Fleetwood host Arsenal at Highbury on Tuesday 27 October at 8pm BST, live on Sky Sports Main Event and Football in the UK.
Stat Attack
- This is Fleetwood’s first-ever League Cup meeting in all competitions.
- Arsenal are making their first-ever visit to Fleetwood in all competitions.
- Fleetwood are yet to concede in this season’s edition of the competition and scored six goals across three matches (W3). during which two of their three wins were by 1-0 results over Chesterfield and Sheffield United
- Arsenal have won all three away ties against lower league opposition in this competition under Arteta (W3).
Prediction
With nothing to lose as underdogs and the fact that they have kept clean sheets in this season’s cup run, Fleetwood can give this tie a good go but they have won just two of their last nine matches in all competitions and are in a relegation battle in League Two which is the priority now.
Arsenal meanwhile will certainly be vastly changed from the side that clinically dispatched Everton and with their depth and quality, I expect them to get the job done pretty comfortably as Fleetwood won’t really have too much quality to hurt them realistically.
Prediction: Fleetwood 0-3 Arsenal
