2025-26 Premier League: Week 12 – Wolves vs Crystal Palace

Wolves begin life under Rob Edwards with a tricky Premier League test against Crystal Palace.

Wolves will remain bottom of the table regardless of the result, although victory coupled with results elsewhere going in their favour could trim their deficit towards safety down to five points.

Palace can climb as high as third if can claim a huge win and those above them also in action taste defeats.

Team News

Emmanuel Agbadou is available for Wolves after he was suspended for their 3-0 defeat at Chelsea before the international break.

Leon Chiwone (ACL), Matt Docherty (knee) and Rodrigo Gomes (groin) remain ruled out.

Palace could welcome Marc Guehi back into contention after he missed their goalless draw against Brighton before the international break, owing to a foot injury which saw him sit out England’s international games despite joining the squad for their 2-0 home victory over Serbia.

Jean-Philippe Mateta will also be available after he returned from international duty for France with a minor knee injury, which he has quickly recovered from.

Rio Cardines (adductor), Eddie Nketiah (hamstring), Chadi Riad and Cheick Doucoure (both knee) could be in contention for selection subject to fitness checks.

When is Kick-Off?

Wolves host Palace at Molineux on Saturday 22 November at 3pm GMT, untelevised live in the UK.

Stat Attack

  • Wolves have won just one of their last nine league meetings against Palace (W1, D1, L7).
  • Palace are unbeaten in three of their last four visits to Wolves (W2, D1, L1).
  • Wolves’ Jorgen Strand Larsen scored in both appearances against Palace last season (D1, L1).
  • Wolves have lost their last two league matches by 3-0 results (L2), albeit away to Fulham and Chelsea.
  • Palace have kept clean sheets in their last two league matches (W1, D1).

Prediction

Although Edwards is now in charge, he definitely faces a massive operation because Wolves need major tactical surgery but solidifying the defence is key, after a pair of 3-0 losses but they have also failed to score in three of their last four league games underlining their end product difficulties in attack.

One positive though is the fact that they defended well in the first half of defeat at Chelsea before the quality difference told in the second half, which is something that Edwards will of been able to use as a foundation to build on.

Palace meanwhile were pretty wasteful in their goalless draw against Brighton but to keep a clean sheet without Guehi’s presence was a positive, although I do expect them to bounce back after having had the international break to regroup and get more players back from injury.

Although Wolves will try to get the managerial bounce from having Edwards’ first match at home, I do think that Palace will have too much quality if can polish their final touches.

Prediction: Wolves 1-2 Crystal Palace

Result: Wolves 0-2 Crystal Palace
