2025-26 Sky Bet Championship: Week 18 – Tuesday

Blackburn meet Ipswich in a rescheduled Sky Bet Championship clash affecting both ends of the table.

Victory would lift Blackburn up to 17th in the table on goal difference from Charlton, whilst Ipswich can climb to fourth with a win.

This fixture was originally played in late September but had to be abandoned in the 79th minute due to a waterlogged pitch.

Team News

Blackburn have no fresh injury concerns to report after their 1-1 draw at Wrexham.

Hayden Carter (calf), Todd Cantwell, Balazs Toth (both knee), Augustus Kargbo (hamstring) and Scott Wharton (Achilles) remain absent.

Ipswich have no fresh injury concerns following their 2-1 defeat at Oxford United.

Alex Palmer (calf), Jens Cajuste (ankle), Harry Clarke (knee), Wes Burns, Conor Townsend (both ACL) and Sammie Szmodics (knee) remain absent.

When is Kick-Off?

Blackburn host Ipswich at Ewood Park on Tuesday 2 December at 7:45pm GMT, live on Sky Sports+ in the UK.

Stat Attack

  • Blackburn have won one of their last seven league meetings against Ipswich (W1, D2, L4).
  • Ipswich have won only one of their last 12 league visits to Blackburn (W1, D3, L8).
  • Blackburn have kept clean sheets in three of their last four home games against Ipswich.
  • Blackburn have won just one of their eight league games at home this season (W1, D1, L6).
  • Ipswich’s three goals in their last two away matches were scored after half time (W1, L1).

Prediction

Still engulfed in the relegation fight despite sitting 18th, Blackburn know that victory in this game in hand will give them a bit more breathing space but will be disappointed to have conceded a late equaliser at Wrexham after controlling the game once ahead.

Ipswich meanwhile will be fired up for this clash after a disappointing defeat to Oxford Utd where they dominated yet lacked a clinical edge – such was their awful form there, so this is a chance to try and atone for that loss at another of their bogey away grounds if can tidy up their end product.

Blackburn though have had less rest than Ipswich but I do think that they should be able to at least grind out a draw here.

Prediction: Blackburn 1-1 Ipswich

Result: Blackburn 1-1 Ipswich
