England forward, Michelle Agyemang has been ruled out for the remainder of 2025-26 season with a ruptured ACL injury.
Agyemang had replaced Alessia Russo in the 62nd minute of England’s eventual 3-0 friendly win over Australia at Pride Park, Derby, on Tuesday (28 October), but suffered a ruptured Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury just over ten minutes later.
Following scans and medical assessments, Agyemang confirmed on Instagram that she had suffered a torn ACL and would miss the remainder of the season.

“Disappointed that results show a torn ACL.
“I am so grateful for all the kind words and the support from everyone.
“Recovery starts now, I will be back stronger than before.
“In all things I give thanks to the Most High God, this test will surely turn into a testimony ❤️🩹🙏🏾”
English Football Association confirmed their “full support” with manager, Sarina Wiegman and her coaching staff maintaining contact with Agyemang in her recovery, alongside her loan club – Brighton who are working closely with her parent club, Arsenal in her treatment plans as the latter confirmed in a statement.
“We are in close contact with Brighton as we determine a treatment and recovery programme for Michelle.”
This injury setback comes just months after a breakthrough summer in which she netted equalising goals against Sweden and Italy in Quarter and Semi-Finals respectively, as the Lionesses defended their UEFA Women’s Euro title.
