Wales international midfielder, David Brooks has committed his future to Bournemouth on a four-year contract until June 2029.

Brooks’ new contract comes after a bright start to the season in which he featured in all four of the Cherries’ matches in all competitions, having scored twice in 33 appearances last season in his first full campaign for the club since 2020-21 season.

The Welsh midfielder battled Hodgkinson Lymphoma between October 2021 – May 2022 but after he returned to first-team action in March 2023, he spent the second half of the 2023-24 season on loan at Southampton to gain regular game time where he helped them achieve promotion via Championship Play-Offs.

Brooks has since managed 22 goals in 151 total appearances since his move from Sheffield United in July 2028 and is “delighted” to sign his new contract, as he reflected upon his various “ups and downs” on and off the pitch.

“I’m delighted to sign a new deal. The past seven years have come with some ups and downs, of course nothing to do with the club, but I’ve really enjoyed being here and I’m looking forward to the years ahead.

“I think my standout moment so far has to be making my Premier League debut. That’s every young boy’s dream and I got to fulfil that here, so now I hope to push forward and make more memories.”

Head of Football Operations, Tiago Pinto added: “I’m really pleased that David has committed his future to the club and that he wants to be playing his football here.”

Pinto also proceeded to speak of how valued Brooks is alongside Marcus Tavernier and James Hill who have too signed new contracts, as he iterated that these early-season renewals is an iteration of “… how much the players believe in our project and want to be a part of it.”
