Jamie Vardy will leave Leicester City at the conclusion of 2024-25 season.
Vardy spent 13 years at the Foxes following his £1m move from then Non-League club, Fleetwood Town, and has gone on to help Leicester achieve promotion as Championship champions twice, and was part of the squad which claimed a shock Premier League title in 2015-16 season.
During his time at Leicester, Vardy also was part of the team which claimed a first FA Cup title in May 2021, followed by FA Community Shield just months later.
Vardy confirmed his departure in an emotional video on his social media channels in which he described his exit as a “difficult decision to make”, after scoring 198 goals in 495 appearances for Leicester.

Vardy’s final appearance at home for Leicester will come against Ipswich on Sunday 18 May, before he then brings the curtain down on his time at the club with a trip to Bournemouth on the final day of the campaign on 25 May.
Paying tribute to Vardy for his commitment and effort to the club, Leicester chairman, Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha hailed the forward as an “unique” and “special player” who “… holds a place in the hearts of everyone connected to Leicester City, and he certainly has my deepest respect and affection. I am endlessly grateful for everything he has given to this Football Club.”
During his time at Leicester, Vardy scored seven goals in 26 international appearances for England, which included a memorable equaliser against Wales in a comeback 2-1 victory in UEFA Euro 2016 at the Group Stage.
